The forum is for the residents of Portuguese Bend, Abalone Cove & Barkentine communities of Rancho Palos Verdes. Its sole purpose is to share constructive thoughts, suggestions & concerns about the potential for noise , fire hazard, increased traffic, loss of home values & loss of the peace & quiet which prompted us to move into the community. The proposed event center is located in a residential neighborhood above Palos Verdes Dr. South & between the three neighborhoods and is not zoned for commercial use. The benefit to the surrounding neighborhoods is unclear. The objective is to secure a Conditional Use Permit that will permit up to 100 events between April-Oct (7 months)this is every other day. Events will include weddings, wedding receptions, fund raising events, private parties, corporate parties, outdoor conferences, public/community events, educational activities, and other non-commercial activities. The applicants will be York Properties, New York Food Company and Las Candalistas. I would urge all concerned to promptly contact City officials with your views.
